After gaining solid experience in both the procedural and strategic sides of financial planning, I was thrilled to join Define Financial in 2023.
I love being part of a team that shares my passion for delivering the best possible client experience as our top priority. I’m also grateful to be at a place where I can add real value by applying my varied talents and interests to the families we serve.
Career Highlights
My introduction to Define Financial began in 2017 while I was completing my bachelor’s degree in financial services at San Diego State University.
As a member of the Financial Planning Association’s (FPA) student chapter, I took part in a three-day mentorship program, shadowing a practicing financial advisor in their office. That advisor happened to be Define Financial’s founder, Taylor Schulte, CFP®. The experience proved to be a turning point in my career.
After gaining experience at other firms and earning my CFP® designation, I came to realize that no other place compares to Define Financial.
Though the firm and I spent time growing on separate paths, we ultimately arrived at the same place at the same time—bringing me back to the very beginning of my journey and reaffirming my commitment to serving as a 100% fee-only, fiduciary advisor.
Personal Points of Interest
- San Diego Roots: Like Tyler and Taylor, I, too, am a San Diego native. I grew up in a big, boisterous household with four other siblings. Never a dull day for the Rendler clan!
- Local Entertainment: I don’t surf, but I love the beach, the local food scene, and hanging out with family, friends, and my dog Chewy (a Shiba Inu).
- Team Sports: I like to participate in and watch basketball, football, and other sports when I’m able—even though San Diego seems to be losing all its pro teams.
- Adventures Abroad: I also enjoy traveling the world. Iceland is a favorite of mine; it’s a very social culture with spectacular natural scenery.
